For more than ten years, the American band Elder has held a prominent spot in the stoner/doom scene despite only three albums to their name. Their refusal to conform to the clichés and commonplaces of the genre has led them to lace their heavy underground rock with hypnotic jams and progressive elements which have become the group’s hallmark, opening them up to an audience much larger than the mere stoner microcosm.

Based between Paris, Nantes and Italy, this trio turned quartet is one of the bands to follow closely in the European post-metal scene. Between dream ambiances and edgy atmospheric strata, DDENT’s instrumental music contradicts all the labels which could possibly be applied, mixing spacey industrial elements, heavy doom instrumentations, and inspired post-rock melodies.
