Flavien Berger
FR

Flavien Berger surprises and questions us, and then charms us. By playing with words to create love stories and testing swirling sounds, this self-taught composer quickly became known by bringing fresh air to the French scene. Flavien Berger, a member of the experimental sin~ collective, has always been interested in using machines to make sounds. It is difficult to define his style here: he goes beyond, skillfully mixing frenetic passages and long synthesizer sections.

Malik Djoudi
Pop
FR

Neither true club music, or mere French variety, Malik Djoudi performs electronic music which reconciles 80’s synth pop with tales of open-heart surgery. Wide open, as when a love struck guy asks a pretty girl to “learn all the chic codes for acting like an American”, or when he shows off by driving a Cadillac in Saint-Malo to give himself attitude. Very wide open when he admits “surprising himself by crying at the movies”. Too wide open when he has to face passing time and the complexity of romantic relations...

Balladur
Pop exotique
FR

In 2015, Balladur released its first album Plage Noire, Plage Blanche, laying the foundations of a music which breaks the bonds of the new wave straightjacket. Romain de Ferron and Amédée de Murcia dare to move into unknown sensations, between tropical heat, complex ambient, and pop immediacy.
